Marcela Ramirez, My name is Marcela Ramirez. I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants, and I am proud of my Oaxacan heritage. I was born and raised in Salinas for most of my life but moved to Amador and Alameda County in my late teens. I graduated from high school in Sutter Creek, CA and attended college in Hayward, CA where my focus was psychology and humanities. I have been employed with the County of Monterey for the past 10 years and I am currently employed as a Management Analyst at the Probation Department. I thoroughly enjoy my work and find it rewarding to be part of a department that protects the community, but also helps justice involved individuals by providing opportunities to change criminal behaviors and become law-abiding members of the community. Throughout my life I have volunteered in my community and have made it my goal to contribute to the wellbeing of it. I love connecting with people and learning about different cultures. I enjoy traveling and have visited Europe and Asia.
I am excited to join ELS to support my community, network with like-minded individuals, be part of a team that cares about making a difference, and to continue growing as an individual.
