Orange Quotation

When the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) was looking for a meeting venue to convene a group of environmental justice leads, I knew exactly who to turn to: United Way Monterey County. The Community Impact Center was the perfect space for the newly assembled CNRA Environmental Justice Roundtable to meet in person for the first time! The group was able to hear from local community-based organizations, some of which are UWMC partners, about the importance of partnerships. Being able to meet in Salinas was the perfect meeting location for our group, considering that we had individuals traveling from Sacramento and Southern California. United Way is a proven leader in Monterey County, and now that they have the Community Impact Center, they will be able to leverage that space and increase their impact. -Yessica Ramirez, Environmental Justice and Tribal Liaison, California State Lands Commission
