2-1-1 Monterey County
On February 11,2009, United Way Monterey County launched a new program designed to assist residents of Monterey County to easily connect to a wide variety of health and human services. This information can be accessed in two ways:
First, by using the easy-to-use and easy-to-remember phone number 2-1-1 connecting you to trained Call Specialists who provide confidential assistance. Calling 2-1-1 is fast, free, and available in 170 languages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The second way is through our website at http://211mc.org/. By using the search feature in the website you will be linked to the same database that the Call Specialists use to make referrals over the phone.
In times of disaster, 2-1-1 is designed to relieve the burden on 9-1-1 by providing the community with vital information about evacuation sites, temporary shelters, road closures, etc. The 2-1-1 system is also designed to connect volunteers to organization and agencies that are seeking volunteers.
If you need to know where to go for help but don't know where to begin, start with 2-1-1. You will be given referrals of organizations that provide the type of service you are seeking.
Forms organizations will need to complete to be entered into the 2-1-1 database are found below.
